Help! Which surfboard, LFRawson 5'11'' or NorthRF 6'0'' ?

Postby Ulah » Thu Jun 05, 2008 12:01 pm

Hi guys,

I will buy a new surfboard, but I havent the final decision...

I would like to hear from you which is the best choice for me. I have a surf background, weight about 83kg and 190cm tall. Ride mostly on side on conditions, between 13 and 30knots, with wave size around 3ft and 8ft.

Tkx

I can't comment on the North but I have tested the LF Rawson 5'10" quad - see my independent review under "Surfboard recommendations (Surfingwithkites)??????"

Cheers

I have the LF Rawson 6'1 thruster... love it... not sure about its durability but i use strapless all the time.. I'm guessing the north will be stronger... but it seems the rawson is more geared for waveriding..

Geared more toward wave-riding? Ummm... doubt it. The RF is the sickest wave board I've ever ridden and excels in higher winds and large surf. Best wave-tool I've ever had. I also hear good things about the Rawson, but to say the RF is not geared toward wave-riding is misinformation at best.

just get an actual surfboard and ride it strapless. Wave specific kite-surfboards are a joke and they will give you bad style......I have rarely seen somebody make a strapped surfboard look good......get something that you can paddle-out on. :argue: :cool2:

Yes man, if you wanna jump with you board, get a twintip, not a surfboard. I used RF 07 srapless and and strapped, in small and heavy surf, and it's still not broken... :jump:

I have a Slingshot SRT 5'11, which is a good size. I also tried the North RF, but did not like it, it felt more like a windsurfboard than a surfboard, especially in the turns.

The LF Rawson, is also an Epoxy board and the tail is more a surf style tail.
If your background is surfing, I would recommend you the LF surfboard.

Enjoy.
