What are peoples preferences when setting up their QR safety.

Do you prefer 100% De-power or do you prefer flagging ?
Foils ... SLE's .... C's Land/Water any kite any system ..... what's your 2C's

100% depower with option to flag if it goes nasty (e.g. oh-shit handles or a stopper ball on a centre line)

Kite with big depower, then use a QR to release to flagging out.

All other is dangerous for yourself and others!

Nice title...

for handling i much appreciate full depower but when it comes to QR i really want to kill the kite. That´s flagging. Full depower as the safety has it´s own inherent riscs like tangled tips that prevent depower from killing the kite(´s power)

I have been riding a little over a year and (so far) only ride hooked in .... I have all my kites set to flag if I eject so .......

If riding unhooked and you have your safety connected to the de-power line (whis seems the common set up to me) then letting go of the bar is the same as using a QR right ? That being the case then do you have to yard the kite back to grab an OS handle to be able to flag it or is there a second safety to have it flag ?

To date I still don't understand why Cabrinha put their leash on the back lines. The kites spins like 40 times on the way down and the chance of relaunching is virtualy nil

The Eclipse system looks good but I don't think it will totally flag out the kite. When it is really blowing and you need to do an unasisted landing, the ability to flagout the kite easly is most important. Maybe if the depower line was attached higher to one of the front lines the kite will flagout completely!

Since I have to do unasisten landings of my kite most of the time I am alway looking for the best possible way to flag out a kite!

On waves, to save the kite and dont loose it, you nead to flag on one line and the best one is a front line

When you drop the bar it goes to total depower, but when you pull the release, flag. I hope all kite manufacturers get that, flag has to be reliable, not an afterthought on the rear line because it’s the cheapest bar to make.
