defender/picklefork

Postby niklar » Wed Jun 04, 2003 8:32 pm

Tomorrow I have to decide whether to take North Defender 57 or Liquid force Picklefork 151.

I am a beginner weigh 75kg and have the Aero 18 and Aero 8

Same price but with the picklefork I will get both suction bindings and strap bindings.

Think I'm leaning towards the somewhat big Defender because it probably will work better for me as a beginner and also better in light wind conditions.

Any suggestions please.

That's not the point..
Bindings suck big-time so..
But a wakeboard remains a wakeboard either it's from '01 or '03.. :thumb:

Defender 150 instead of 157!

I weigh 92 kgs and had this board (broken now) and loved it.
I have the 157 now and going to add a dragon s so I have 1 lightwind and one strong wind board.

Comparing the 157 to the 150. The 150 can hold its edge better, the 157 planes earlier. The difference in planing however was less than I expected (the 150 is already OK) and the difference in edging I see as more important since your windrange will be bigger, especially when you only have 1 board.

Pro's
Lovely footpads
Very easy upwind in lighter conditions
Lightweight board
Very easy surfing

Con's
Footstraps size adjustment
Broke 1

Buy from somebody else because that kite shop is giving poor advice. They should not sell you that old wakeboard with bindings. Any good and honest kite shop would sell you the Defender.

The 142 Picklefork with straps instead of bindings rocks. Ever so smooth through chop. So what if it's an old design, it works. I actually prefer it to the WT. But then you are talking about a diffent size, so my experience may not be helpful :D
