i'm hoping someone who owns an X310 could give some feedback on it....in terms of wind range and stability in winds from about 18-30?
would it be too close to an x2 12m?

X3 are not so good for big size , but really nice for smaller ones 12 and 10, they have a huge high wind range compared with the X2.
It can be a good complement .

You say the X3 is not too good in the larger sizes. I have a freind wanting to buy an X3 16m and now I am worried that it might be a bad choice. Please could you say what the problems are.
Thanks
Ryan

Excellent choice in 12m and in 10m.
The 10m can go untill really very strong wind, I've bin out till 38 knots.
In big size it is also a good kite but not very powerfull, so you can get a bigger size. Once you get on speed it generates a lot of power.

I had the 16 during one year now and changed to a X4,
the 16 X3 is not really a light wind kite, for me it started to be interesting
between 15 and 20 knots , after this purchase I have been obliged
to buy a real light wind kite of 20m from another brand.
The 16 X4 has a good low end (not tried the high end yet) it is fun starting
at 12 knots, between 12knts and 15knts the difference is huge.
The other thing with the 16 and other big X3 is that it jellyfishes a little bit
if you are not well trimmed, if you want to turn fast the kite the last bladder is distorting a lot. Definitively big X3s were not a big success ...
But the small ones are magic, I keep my 12 X3 this year, it is too good.

I have a 18 X3 and i start to use it with 11 knots.... it's fast, light, and have a good power.
I also have a 14 X3 and it is better than 18 X3... but the 18 X3 continuing being an excelent light wind kite.

The 10m2 X3 is at least one size - maybe two, smaller than the 12m2 X2 (which has very little or none depower).
The 12m2 X2 can be flown very agressively and develop power in light wind.
Whereas the X3 has huge upper end.
So these kites could complement each other

I agree with Peter. There is a huge difference in power between the 12 X3(and X2) and the 10 X3. The 10 is super stable and fast with lots of up range. I think it would be a great kite for you and a solid compliment to your X2. Like the previous posters I'm not a big fan of the 16 at the low end of its wind range but I am 86 kg.
