What storm ???

We had a lot of wind here in Denmark the last days, but hardly enough to call it a storm

Maybe you had more wind than we had here though...

We've had 34 to 38 knots of average winds, gusting to 50 knots - but a storm is when its at, or over 48-50 knots average, and THATS a lot...

But cool mega waves, and insane jumping and waveriding here the last 3 days with these conditions !

In fact it was these rare days when kitesurfing and windsurfing and surfriding (at point breaks) worked equally well here :thumb:

Sometimes the wind has been down at 25 knots only, at some locations here - but still okay for everything.

But great jumps you got there in Sweden :bye:

Hi,

It seems to be a bit of a difference in angles of these pics, the black and white one is taken from below and up I would say but the colour one is taken directly from the side.

I would say the colour one is more true when measuring height, this jump is way up there. 15m lines with the kite slightly to the side, take off point oin the green water, this would make this jump 12-13 meters high or even a bit more.

The black and white one os high as well but I think the angle is lying a bit and there is no references, could have been taken with wide angle or even fish eye lens, then you can get unreal pictures.

I used to do a lot of semi pro dirt bike photography so I learnt to play with the lenses and angles.

This is not to slam any of the photos and riders because they are both very good, just a bit of useless information.

Thanx,

Sean

Measure or estimate the height from which the pic was taken... when shooting with a long lens, it is very easy to make the horizon into a reference point with the same height a your own height from the horizon - will be accurate enough for an amazingly large area. Then just measure how much above the horizon the guy is and you´ll get a truthful +-1 m accurate height.

yeah its defineately hard to judge from a photography and i think it looks higher than it was.

it was as someone said taken from under but from kinda far away with a tele. id say he was jumping between 7 to 10 meters, around 8 most of the time this day so this is around there somewhere.

think he was out with 9 squaremeter, slingshot fuel or gto. winds around 14-20 m/s.

no maybe not a storm but still a lot of wind.

not that i took the picture but i'd say the black and white one is definately taken with some kind of 'odd lens'.

wide angle- tilt shift- or otherwise. the jump looks larger than it is.

i AM the one who took the picture. it wasnt taken with a wideangle lense. i used a telelens, about 140mm from maybe 50meters.

my guess is the jump is around 8-9 meters high.
