El Yaque - Alojamiento

Postby kiteabit » Tue Dec 23, 2003 7:49 pm

Hola,

It´s a bit long to explain all of it but just to resume: First at all, Download a video from http://www.kitesurferen.dk called SpotGuide El Yaque. it´s like 80 Mb but it´s worth it all.
The place to stay is just on the beach "Playa El Yaque". Do not go to Porlamar this is 25 minutes trip.
From there you can kite upwind from the windsurfers area.
In the morning it´s side shore constant light wind and is picking up during the day until 5 pm when it´s slightly sideoff and not so constant.
At 5:30 pm its sunset and it´s also nice to kite even if the wind is gusty because all the local kiters go out.
It´s warm water and warm all year around. Kitesurf almoust everyday since november until july. Best months feb-march-april. March too much wind!! Eastern is too crowded...
You´ll need a 14m and a 10m but this always depends on how big you are...somedays a 17m or a 8.5m are also needed ;)

There´s others spots like Isla de Coche that is just perfect spot, off-shore, constant wind and absolutely flat water. You can take a shuttle boat from El Yaque that cost 15U$ including a Full Day with all inclusive on a nice Hotel Coche Speed Paradise. Cubagua it´s another close place to go and on the other side of the island a place called "La Restinga" with onshore winds and some waves (if in El Yaque it´s too windy)
Best Regards.
And hope to see you around.

HUGO
