If it was me i would chose a 16m kite, as it suits me better and my local conditionds. Check out what your mates are using, and see if you can try a few.

I have Ocean Rodeo's 12M Bronco. With the 4-5mm wetsuit, I'm well over 80Kg. In a very steady 9-10 knots of wind I have experienced great rides on a slightly bigger board (155 cm). No problem getting up-wind. I have had the same ride with the 16M in about 8 knots.
