I've been paragliding since 1994 and never knew of this site! It looks awesome. I'm going to use it over the next month and see how accurate it is for kiting and paragliding. Kind of reminds of windguru.... Thanks for passing along the info!

Here I rely on windguru.
Works fine for me, if you do not look too far ahead.

You should also try weather underground at http://www.wunderground.com

It has a subscription option with no ads, and info is similar on intra-day windspeed and direction forecasts, plus forecasted cloud cover, etc. Paul Menta at The Kitehouse turned me on to this when I was in Key West taking lessons over thanksgiving. I now use it in Jackson Hole and find it pretty good!

Windguru works best for me because it's international. And the most accurate I've found for my area. http://www.bouyweather.com works pretty well for me as well. It's designed more for shipping, but gives good wind maps as well as predictions. I think it's worth the us $10 per year. The one site i wouldn't trust is our local bureau of meteorology. They overestimate wind by about 40% all the time. Must have something to do with public liability.

I also like usairnet although I like Windguru better because of the extended forecast. I find that both forecasts are nearly the same for 3 days ahead.

No one site works for me. we use windfinder, weather undergound, weather onlin .uk, Bouy and guru. between all of these it seems that if there is general agreement then they seem to work. I would not pay for any of these services.
