I was supposed to go to ghana last year (nextdoor)

I hope to go sometime in the next few years

I will take my kitesurfing kit ofcourse

Accra is where i was going

Was Lagos any good? i was offered a good job their about 6ish years ago but turned it down as i thought it was a scary place to live.

I have Nigerian family and they think it is scary there, how did you find it?

There use to be some Italians (Saipem) that use to work there. One of the guys use to kite in spots around there a couple of years ago. Great adventure.

From what I heard Ghanaa nd Accra is a great place...

I leave in Victoria Island in lagos for the last 5 months. Its not scary but you need to be more carefule...There are nice beaches but most of them are dirty like the city itself... You can't drive by your self only with a driver... However, I traveled a lot in lagos city and I didn't face yet any dangerous situations.

As for kite surfing Takua bay is a very good spot with flat water (Its an Island in the lagoon and the other side of it face the ocean) and the only place that I fill safe to surf... In the beaches along the ocean there is no rescue if you will need.

Now its the raining season so I couldn't go to surf today ..

Ciao,

Ronen

Ahh! Tarqua Bay, I remember it well. I used to Windsurf and waterski in there, then lunch at the LYC beach hut and back out on the water. You should try wavesailing at Lighthouse. Now that is some scarry shit! :o :o :o I broke so many masts and boards in that break it's unreal, not to mention one Hobie 16. The less said about that the better, surfing on a catermaran seemed like such a good idea at the time... untill we were 10 ft in the air and upside down.

...and I had heard that some other blokes had already kited there, but that's unconfirmed so you might well be the first.
