Take a look at kitebeaches.com, plenty of information. Went to Sardinia two years ago and had a good time, wind, flat water, waves.

I live in Sicily.
Could be very good, depends on what you want, no waves (fall, winter, spring). West coast is recommended. ( I live on the north coast.)

Oskar...sounds kind of swedish?

If you have the opportunity, I suggest you to go to extreme South Italy: Calabria (Reggio Calabria).
The land in front of sicily.
Some spots are simply legendary!! (Punta Pellaro x example).
Until october: 80% days > 16 knots! tipically 18-24kt caused from venturi effect of sicily with Italy + adding sweet sea breeze from 16pm to 21pm!.
You will find kite school, cheap accomodations, a lot of points to view and ride, airport, low-cost flyes from Malta, and rayinair.

You can take information on that spot also here:
http://www.newkitezone.it/Contatti_iko.htm

You can write in english, of course.
Aloha!
