Swell, I don't agree I kite with a 7m Vegas on a 6' surf board and it is brilliant for down the line surfing, it is very fast and light, no back stall.
This is my choice.

For me, in my spot with side-on gusty wind, the good is any small and responsive kite in its sweet spot and 25-30 knots of wind.

The thing is that unless you live in a side-off wind location, wind and waves are not the best friends. When we have big waves here the wind is 12-15 knots. And that is a shit.

The best ever was rebel 7m 2007, hyper fast and total depower.
No park & ride though and instability was its middle name.

@Peter_Frank: what are you riding these days?

See you!

Well i've tried many kites and i came down to three, Best Kahoona, RRD Religion and Wainman Rabbits.
Kahoonas are realy nice, fast, grunty and very forgiving with very good low end but heavy bar feeling when on the higher end.
Religions are extremely good in wave riding very fast with very light bar feeling but no low end - on the other hand no high end too.
Rabbits are my personal favorite because of the wind range, bar feeling and the set up options.
All of them are 4line kites, IMO 5 lines for wave riding is not really good because if you screw things up (and eventually you will) and end up under your kite with all the lines going slack there is a good chance the kite drops in the surf and it will either roll over or invert and the 5th line can rip the kite in half (i've seen it hapen twice in my spot).
