Vegas 09 with 08 bar

hi there,

I have the 9m and 12m Vegas of 09 and I try to fly them with my old 08 bar used on my old Rebels (trying to save some money for some months if possible).

The question is whether has done this someone else as I am wondering:
Is it OK to fly with the 08 bar these kites?
Has anyone saw any differences with the 09 bar on the lines length?

It seems to me that the 5th line takes too much tense.
more tense than it used to take when I was flying the 08 rebels.
When I have my kite at 12 o'clock it seems to have a trend to go behind me.
I was thinking of adding a small extension in the 5th line.

Any informative contributions here?

No I have noticed any problems with using an 08 bar on the o9 vegas. Shouldn't be a problem. I did hear thou on a grapevine that an 10cm extension to the 5th line helps as it takes some tension out as you mentioned but I haven't and its fine.
The only differences is the colour of the bar and the velcro bit on the stopper ball and the floats.

i think it will fly better the bit where the lines spread in the center is way too high for the kite to fly properly on the 09 bar, im sure its better off wioth the older equipment, also im sure the 08 is better than the 09, the 09 is a really shabby kite

Going to have to disagree with you on that one - I personally thought the 08 was a shabby kite - the 08 was a awesome kite dont get me wrong maybe kite of the year... but the quality was 'shabby' where as the 09s have stepped up a gear with quality. The 09 takes some punishments where as with the 08 it just wouldn't have lasted. The 09 are growers at first when you fly it you may think whats this ... comparing it to the 08 vegas but the more you fly it the more you dig it. Is in my opinion. Ive still got my 14m 08 just because i cant justify upgrading large kites as the devalue on them is silly. But if funds wasn't an option I would be more than happy to swap my 08 for a 09.

I have used '06 bars on '07 kites and '07 bars on '08 kites and never had a problem, as long as they are North.
Naish bar on North Kite didn't work well at all

09 and 08 bars are 100% compatible. You should confirm that the lines are all the same length, however.

Anybody knows if takoon xd bar is compatible with north vegas?
