Looking for some help picking a blank for my first
surfstyle board. If anyone is building their own boards,'
Im looking to shape a 6-6 2" high performance board with some flat water
freeride capibility.

Some of what will define the blank is how your going to build/laminate.

If your going to use Polyester resin that rules out an EPS core due to the fact it will melt it.

Depending on who your going to buy a PU core from depicts there "grading", if you go a PU core I'd go with a weight that they recomend for longboards.

if your going to go an EPS core I'd be looking at a 2 - 2.5 Lbs foam (normal surfboards are using 1lbs)

One plus for EPS foam is if your a weekend builder like me the blank tends to stand up to being moved around a bit more than a PU one does.

Personally I'd use an EPS foam with Epoxy resin, but thats me.

If your on the east coast in the US hit me up for blanks we have 800+ in stock eps and poly. I would go the eps route and depending on how big the waves your going to ride in decides how long you should go. I ride a 5'9 5'10 and 6'0 behind the kite with my 5'9 being the one I ride more. I don't shape my own boards cause the shapers here will do it for me in 3 hours and it would take me forever and it would probably suck. I would say don't go thicker than than 2 1/4 unless you want to surf it too.
But we have the foam, cloth and resin if you need it.

Then look for Skill it Cabrinha, its awsome board.
I loved it for some old shool frestyle on flat water.
Perfect, amzaing planning in low wind condiitons.
And in waves you go everwhere from small shorebrake to medium point brake.
