Has any one tried the 2011 nomad? Is the low end really any better?

Thanks

Got to demo one the other day out in the light stuff, around 15mph.

I weigh 150 lbs. Water was flat, no wave action.

Kite is still the fastest kite in the Cabrinha lineup.

Kite still has the least amount of grunt in the Cabrinha lineup.

I did notice a little more low end than last years model. I rode an 11M Nomad all spring so that is what I was comparing it to.

I still think the kite is going to need a solid 20 to get fired up.

I rode the 2011 9m nomad several times. From low to highend. Coming from SB. Tried 2010 9m nomad only a few times. Couldnt really compare the lowend just yet. That said i never felt the lowend was a problem. Its only logical Nomad has less power compared to SB. To me the 9m is comparable to an 8m SB.
I was riding the new 9 yesterday in winds up to 35knots. Think that is my highend, which is good like the 2010. Estimate the lowend to be 17/18knots (85kg).

Talking twintip: To me the nomad still is a kite that likes to be ridden in the middle to upper range. There is a certain point where some ''button'' is switched and the thing turns in a beast. Sheet the bar out a little and it starts growling. 8)
In lower to middle range I liked the fact that it felt very SB like. Very simular barfeel. Well workable for power. More forgiving after unhooking.

Have yet to try it in the waves.
