Safety leash attached under hook

Postby dandaka » Mon Mar 21, 2011 6:18 pm

Hi, guys!

I wonder is it safe to attach safety leash under hook? Please check illustration:

I use this method and think it is more safe, since:
1) If something goes wrong, kite will pull you face forward. So you see what's going on.
2) It is easily to quick release from safety leash, since it is always under hook, you don't need to look for it behind your back.
3) If something goes wrong, you won't be rotated, so no additional confusion.

I don't do handle passes yet.

Please tell me what do you think, is it good idea or not.

My kiting instructor told me if you aren't doing handle passes that's a better place to attach it than the hand pass bar on the back of your harness for exactly the reasons you said.
