Question for Core riders

Postby Texaskiter » Sun Aug 28, 2016 11:59 pm

I am going to purchase a wave kite but need it to have some low end. How would you compare the GTS 12m vs the Section 12m? I am about 88kg. Wind can be light where I kite and often will have holes. Usually side-on if that changes anything. What differences would I feel between the two kites?

I have owned all the older the GTS models (1-3) and have an size 5 and 7 Section additional. I weigh 88 kg. The Section is lighter in construction (to the GTS 3) and slightly more open profile, and more swept wingtips. It drifts better, and has a higher bottom end range with less power thru turns. Will take gusts and holes better than the GTS3 (cannot speak for the new GTS4 though) and can dump power easier thru bar movement.

Hey thanks for the knowledge. So if I can restate this you are saying the GTS has a better low end but more pull through turns, less drift, and does not handle gusts as well as the Section. Section handles the holes better due to the lighter weight/design. I know your context is with the V3 but I bet this still holds with the 4. I think I need to try the Section! Thanks!

Core riders were raving about the Section in Hood River, OR last week. A much better kite to handle gusts and such. Feedback I received is that there is a little less power so a 6M XR/GTS ~ 7M Section.
