recently switched from 23m on my slingshot bar to 20m (aka the smalles slingshot bar). best thing i ever did! even the 9m SST is much more reactive and turns faster! really like the change. can't really compare the low end, but i'll never ride longer lines again!

Have extensions handy and keep your options open for the conditions of the day and location.
Clean and moderate to strong wind, short lines are great for faster reaction from the kite and quick to the window edge. But there are scenarios where the long lines are called for too.

I would say that at least the smaller sizes are designed to be used with the 20m bar. I have the 5m (2018) and 7m Slash (2019) and they are perfect on that line length. When I ride the 7m with my twintip I usually put 2m extensions on the bar for some added hangtime and to slow it down a bit. Have never compared this side by side though, to find out the difference.

I have no experience with naish slash, but in general I can recommend shorter lines on smaller kites. For waves I use 19 or 20m lines on 9m2 to 4.5m2 kites. Less power in turns, faster turning, shorter flight length from wind window edge to edge.

The 9m2 behaves a little different, but performs good on surf/waves. My 7m2 and smaller kites perform perfect and I wouldn't like them on longer lines. For TT I guess longer lines are perfered, and extentions could be an option for you in waves when wind drops a little..

When I had naish (2010 naish cult) I remember that 20m lines were recommended by naish for smaller kites. Have you looked up the instruction/manual?
back then I think 20m lines plus 4m extentions were standard for naish bars.
