Batwing,Helix. End of C kites?

Postby Rockstar » Fri Jul 27, 2007 12:04 pm

Three generations of Bows,SLE and now Helix etc. surely the old C kites are finished as a design ? They belong in the "History of Kiteboarding" videos now.

Helix is a Stealth bomber, C kite is a DC3 !

Thats a bit premature considering that after the only proper review of a helix so far the author is sticking with his C kites.

Most probably people will steel buy them, as the sport develops, it will define even more categories and kites which will satisfy different requirements...Nevertheless, it reasonable to expect that some of the carachteristics of different categories will convey into new shape...there is room for ..sedan, coupe & convertibles

after seeing the price for Helix/ batwing/ Crossbow, I'll stick with C-kites. I'm not paying $1600 for a 12m Helix that is not much more than a blow-up doll pool toy. We all know how fragile these things are so I just can't see paying that much for a kite, not to mention it's a new un-proven design. C-kites are proven, been refined over the years and have stood the test of time.

Hey, We have all spent way too much for one of these kites. I had a $20 pool lounger built with the same bladder/sleeve technology. I guess when you are a junkie you will pay anything to get that rush.

Yeah the cost is painful. I am going for the Batwing 12 and just have fewer kites.
