Sean Farley dominates US Nationals and Sandy Parker leads in the woman’s after day two
Day two of racing was held in perfect conditions, air temperature at 85 degrees and winds blowing from the southeast at 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 30mph. Sean Farley continues to dominate the fleet winning six out of six races today. There is a significant gap to the second placed Damien Leroy and then the battle over second place begins. Only one point behind and tied for third are Sky Solbach and PKWT overall Champion 08 Jesse Richman. Chip Wasson is sitting in fifth place trailing this pack but still in the mix and ahead of Adel Lago. The master division guy's Ken Winner, Mike Gerhard and Nils Stolzlechner are inside of 10 points racing close together in the second group of kiters and at times right in the leader pack.
With only one through out score allowed for the entire competition and having reached the half way mark the races are still wide open and big mistakes or technical breakdowns can significantly change the results for the competitors. Having great wind forecasts will allow for at least 10 more races in challenging conditions.
Day three of racing will see even higher winds with gusts up to 40mph.
The US Nationals in course racing are sanctioned by ISAF and IKA and hosted by the Corpus Christi Yacht Club, NJS Designs and the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors bureau.
