I can't see why a company would put out a production race board right now. The boards are changing so rapidly that as soon as the board came out it would be obsolete.

I hear you, for competitive riders.
At the same time, a non-competitive guy like me might want one, if it's less than a custom.

You might want to let us know why you prefer long, thin fins compared to those "hammer fins" from Curtis, which keep most of their surface closer to the board's hull.

Fins are dependent on a lot of factors. Water conditions, wind speed, fin position, riding style... Damo was killing it on the upwind angle! The rider has to put in a fair bit effort to keep the board under control, however.

The hammer fins work in rougher conditions where control is the deciding factor.

The deck shape of Damo's board looks more domed than some boards, which has got to be more comfortable for riding the board flat. The shape just looks good.
The front and rear fins are a long way apart, which should cut down a lot on the manouverability. Is it a board that just wants to run in straight lines and has to be taken round a big arc?
With the work that Bruno was doing on race boards, have Cabrinha decided not to base the production board purely on his race board, and gone for a detuned version of Damien's board? (a bit like the S-Killit is a larger production version of Jon Modica's board?)
Any news on when it is going to be available?

Cabrinha is releasing race boards, SUPs..... sacrilege!!!!!

Development continues on the race boards. Further testing has proven that the boards ridden at the Worlds were going in the right direction. I have been working on fins as well.

Yes, Cabrinha has two models that I did for them..
Saw the first ones yesterday and the graphics look fantastic!
These board are the same as what my team riders (Damien Leroy, Adam and Andy Koch, Bruno Sroka and Kent Marenkovic are using right now in the 2010 Continental Racing Championships in Puerto Villarta. My two other team riders, Jesse and Shawn Richman are not there.
