Hey Guys,
I am the organizer of the Kite Event, and president of the Mexican Kitesurfing Association, during this time of the year (in a normal year), the winds start blowing 15-20 knots. There have been some strange cold fronts coming through with rain, which are messing up the local weather patterns. Last weekend they had 18 knots of wind. Basically it either blows 14+ or it doesn´t.
Regarding the Race clinics, they will take place Feb 27-28, and are free and not formally organized, you just have to show up. Amateurs have to pay the same fee, as we are sanctioned by IKA and that carries sanctioning fees for each person who signs up. If you have any questions please let me know at info(at)kitemexico.org
Cheers,
Andres Santacruz

The only information I've heard is that Damien Leroy is doing well but rounded the wrong mark in one of the races so far:
Damien Leroy 1, 2 ,DNF (maybe not in that order)
I've also heard informally that "Heineken and Koch are doing well". Anyone else have more detailed information?
There's a ridiculously high level of competition at this thing. Anyone in the top 10 deserves a ton of respect.
