The new wind average minimum for kite course racing at th North American Continentals was 4 knots.
Quick get on a speed3 and you can win $10,000 dollars from PMU.....easy money

My Speed 3 19 DL gives up under 5 knots,
so if you could please let me know about a flying tyre that will outdo my Speed3 please let me know

Gunnar Biniasch has been caught out exaggerating the benefits of ram airs - typical ram lover lies and exaggerations.
NO kite - ram air or inflatable - will perform in under 8 knots
and definitely NO KITE WILL PERFORM AT 5 KNOTS.

I won't go into the physics of it, but it is simply impossible for a kite to perform under 8 knots;
definitely NO KITE WILL PERFORM UNDER 7 KNOTS.
The physics is complex, but primarily involves the power that wind moving at 7 knots (13km/h) can deliver.
There is simply not enough power or velocity at this wind speed for ANY kite to perform.
Gunnar's exaggerations and lies can be found at viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2361421
This is typical of the ridiculous and unsubstantiated claims made by ram lovers.
Kitesurfing at 5 knots.......laughable.

Ignore the lies. Ignore the exaggerations. Ram airs are aerodynamically inferior compared to inflatables.

That is an outright lie.
It is simply IMPOSSIBLE to kitesurf under 8 knots (definitely impossible under 7 knots).
Laws of physics prove there simply isn't enough power at this wind speed.
If you match it, I'm prepared to wager $10000 USD that you cannot "ride just fine in 5 knots"
as long as the following criteria are met:
- Objective PROOF of 5 knots
- Objective judging eg At a PKRA event.
- Objective judges. 3 independently chosen judges.
- Definition of "ride just fine": I would define "ride just fine" as the ability to stay upwind
over a prolonged period of time eg 10 minutes.
SO BRING IT ON GUNNAR. Prove your ridiculous claims objectively or stop the lies and exaggerations!
This is the one he refers to above.
I hope you could prove that's possible in 5 knots

I think Adam confirmed earlier in this post that it is possible ?

And I remember another thread about the PKRA 2009 Portugal where they were racing in glassy water and no wind, and measured the wind on the start boat.

I want admit that there is definately more wind in 40m height, so the questions seems to be, how to get the kite up there...
