Hi,
I've just bought a used wainman hawaii smoke.When I inflated it I found on the surface of the kite 4-5 very small 2-3mm holes.
What do you think?Do you think they'll get bigger?Is it better I fix them?How?
Thanks
Giacomo

holes in a kite are seldom a good thing. (unless a valve sticks through
)
2-3 mm holes in the canopy are not what i would call 'harmless'
Are they round punctures or tears? tears are potential kite rippers. disaster waiting top happen.

Yeah, that is no big deal. Could be little grass pokes or something.
Get some rip stop repair tape in whatever color you like, and stick a small patch on each side.
I buy tape from these guys. It is cheap, but they whack you on shipping;

They normally come from cool guys standing between the kites SMOKING. The ash gets blown straight to the fabrik. Small holes is what you get.
Had it a vew times and it realy sucks. Can't get the coolios to realise it....waste of time. Best to have the kite lying a bit off side where there is no posing...and mostly no smokin.
Sad, but true

If the holes are in 1 general location, they could also be caused during the packing down of the kite.
If the kite is folded the same way each time it is packed down, and is not zipped up carefully in the bag, the canopy can get caught in the zip and create little holes in one area, (often in the central part if you pack the kite up starting from the wingtips).
I generally place my finger between the zip and kite as I close the bags to minimise the possibility of trapping the kites in the zip.
As advised above - if you are concerned, a patch should minimise any further damage in those spots.

yeah. that`s pretty annoying. i usually don`t hesitate to drive off anyone smoking 15m upwind from my kite.
