rrd kite gear 2010 / wich one??

Postby Mico » Sat Jun 12, 2010 7:01 pm

hello guys, please help me, who knows rrd kites?

specially between passion 11, obsession 12 & 10.5, religion 11.5 &10
my program : wakestyle (only with bindings & cab custom), shooting some rails & kicker, surf strapless, all unhooked tricks & freestyle strapless on flat water with my surfboard
what are their wind range?
i'm living in french west indies, wind is 13-20 knts many times. so i need a kite with a good power at low range, really good turning for surfing & good for unhooked tricks and quite easy to relaunch. i don't like kite with high bar pressures, love with a middle bar pressure i think. actually, i'm riding with a lf envy 12, really good kite but i 'll probably have to change for rrd (before i had a rpm12, love it too but less power for my bindings)

1/ passion 11 looks like my envy but maybe with less power at low end ?
2/ obsession looks like a cab sb i think, 12 seems with a good low range but i think it's just a freestyle kite, not really good for surfing....so maybe 10 is better??
3/ religion seems very good for wave riding, but what is the wind range (good power??) and is it easy to relaunch?
am i right?? so please help me!!
chears

I'd say obsession, hands down.. Does everything. Faster than the passion, gruntier than the Religion.

10.5 Obsession is a magic size. In 2010 I have 7-9-12 and often miss the 10,5m.
But for your winds and with bindings I would say the 12m. for surf board I guess 10,5 would be okay.
Obsession is an excellent kite !
The 12m is very grunty - and probably turn faster than you are used to for a 12m kite.

Obsessions hands down, I'm in love with the 10.5 and I use it for all kinds of riding. :thumb:

Yeah, basically. If I was sailing around the world and could only take one kite, it would be that obsession 10.5. :)

I've made it almost through an entire year having the 10.5 as my biggest kite. I ride an Underground Freestyle Fish 5'10" mostly and a twintip if it gets super windy. I also have the 7m Obsession which rocks but it doesn't get much use. The 10.5 is the goto kite.
You won't be disappointed :D

ok, so 10.5 seems better but could i ride with my bindings with14 knots??
i saw wind range of the 10.5 is 13-26 kts & 12m is 11-24 kts and with my board, i need 2 knt heavier comparate to a classic freestyle board, so is it true?
cheers
