why there is always some hi-tech nickname for the bar or depower system or bridle system?

i don't mean just the naish, they are all do it. i mean who does count and remember all those names?
i guess some kite magazines people, middlemen (retailers) for the kite brands and maybe the team riders (to be able to make promo video speech looking much smarter). average customer will probably forget the name of the bar the next day after purchase.

isn't it easier and safer to mark those systems with the year numbers? so the brands can avoid blunders like this:
