I read something about a new 1.5 : 1 bar for racing.
Anyone have any thoughts/pics/whatever?

Last fall there was a thread about this bar. I can't find the link...maybe someone else can.

The topics started when a photo of Bruno was posted with a new bar with pulleys. The photo was removed.
There is a photo somewhere of Adam Koch pulling an additional line to the powerline, which seems to be his way of dealing with the depower range problem.

You can see why Bruno would want to get away from this stance.

Ronnie, Bruno is sitting on his heal edge and sheeting out clearly ready to tack. You can see from the water trail that he is already rounding up. That's why his arms are so far out and he looks a little goofy.

As for any new technology, it's a little early for us to be showing anything. Stay tuned...

Yea looks like he's about to tack. Pretty impressive, I have to concentrate just to nail my tacks with my eyes open.

This just out - taken from here (page has since been removed)

Cabrinha Crossbow Race Edition 2011 Kitesurfing Kite -

Quote:
With Cabrinha's dominance in kite course racing secured by Bruno Sroka's 2009 world titles, the foundation was set to develop a dedicated racing kite based on Crossbow's winning design. The New 2011 Cabrinha Crossbow XB Race combines a new profile set into an ultra stable laminate material to deliver a highly tuned racing machine. The Cabrinha Crossbow XB Race is made to do one thing - win. It has incredible upwind and downwind abilities. Our exclusive laminate material and its 7 batten frame keep the canopy flying rock solid on all points of sail. This board will be available from King of Watersports in the very near future. The Cabrinha Crossbow XB Race comes complete with a 1.5 to 1 ratio control bar. This ratio allows greater control over the speed and power of your kite while increasing its turning ability. If you are serious about racing and want to stay ahead of the pack, this is your kite.

What else can you share at this time?

I couldn't help but notice on Damo's POV video that his control bar and lines
were very clean-looking and there was no IDS system/lines to be found.

As you say, but he also sheets out in a straight line as at 0:45 in this video.

Fair enough.

I also see that as the problem which should be solved, with potential turning-speed mods taking a back seat (longer bars do the trick for that... at least somewhat).

Also added to kiteforum.tv -

No mention of the '1.5:1 ratio race version' set-up...

There was a 'secret' photo of Bruno with an unusual pulley bar. They may have moved a similar arrangement up to the kite bridle.
