3 fins probably has much wider appeal from a amateur perspective.
Think i may try order one of these and bash up and down the english channel a bit, take on the local formula boards and dinghies.
would be very interested to see what it is like for reaching with just the back fin . would be a very fun thing to do i reckon- high speed in rough terrain is something i'd like to do more of- TT and speedboards are only really fast in the flat inshore. not of interest to me.
it may have taken 20+ years but I have been waiting patiently for the kiting equivalent of This:
That looks very cool, if you can zip along like the windsurfers in the video over that chop at that speed I'm interested. Anyone tested it yet, got a price or release date?

They have a few demo boards here that I've been out on. If you ask me to compare the board to other race boards I cannot, but I can say this...it is a ton of fun!!!
Going at high speeds over the chop is fantastic. Different sized fin completely changes how the board handles...it is very different from riding a regular board..you have to ride it flat. The upwind angle is insane..well worth a try.

fine but you can compare it to a windsurf board which is larger and has more parts which means with the raceboards they are completely overpriced!
Without getting into it....might have to do with volume too? Per board cost is lower if you can produce 1000 vs 200...or however many boards they do produce...
