I see North has a new race ltd. listed on the IKA website for production boards - super wide at 690 cm and high volume.

Can't see it on the North web site - any body have any info on it or tried it?

Thanks

Neil

Thanks Pouch - will be interesting to see what you fin out.

Will be interested to see if this is just a light wind board for Sky or his regular 'go to' board. I guess he's quite a big fella - so looking to push the box rule as far as he can.

Is it 50 boards they have to sell to qualify?
If so, I guess North has the money to produce and 'sell' those in a hurry.

The board Steph Bridge is standing behind looks huge, so I guess that is what a 70cm board looks like?
The boards look like good shapes, and three fins seems to be gaining in popularity, but the 70 cm decision on width looks like overkill to me, just judging by the look of it. Maybe they will revise the limit down, but I guess the Olympics could be the deciding factor and we could have the same as happened with the Olympic windsurfing where the Olympic kit will have no relevance to popular kiting.

Boards are in a container on the way to everywhere but obvisiouly for the Team riders they shipped their boards seperately so they had them in time for Thailand!
Will be in shops by end of April in Europe, not sure about rest of world, maybe before?
Can't wait to get mine, after using 64 custom tri last year, I am really excited about the new North board and how well it is going according to all who have ridden it. Super smooth even when windy and full power in 6knts on the Dyno 18. Also a big plus is if you have to pack up your kite if you drop it or wind drops then you have plenty of buoyancy to paddle in :thumb:
For sure 70cm seems like overkill to a twin tipper but get used to riding a race board and youll soon see the massive advantages of a bigger board in light winds and it seems Sky has got the balance just right for when the breeze is up to!
Get your orders in now as these are going to sell out quick :bye:

Don't know that you have to sell them for it to count just make them. When you ship it to a distributor that should count as sold as they don't usually have the option of returning them unsold.

What are the fin boxes and size of the fins? Please say they have dropped the mini tuttle. It's a great fin box but no one else uses it.

Boxes are full tuttle with 3 fin size options, 42 being the biggest and all straight.
