I dunno...
I'd be interested in demo'ing it as well.
Flysurfer dealers seem few and far between as I recall last time I went looking for a FLYDOOR.
hey Florida Kitesurfer
yes there are dealers scattered through FL I think your closest is 321 Kiteboarding.com We will be at the Hatteras Kite expo with demos of all Flysurfers gear may 28-30th check out the event here www.thekiteexpo.com please feel free to contact me direct through www.flysurfer-usa.com also and I can answer all your questions.. the Flyrace is the first of its kind and in its early prototype stages has already won many many races. now that it is totally refined it is even better and will have you speeding past the competition. No jibing adjustable and removable fin, refine your racing and rule in litewind or scream down wind in rough conditions the Flyrace will improve speed comfort and racing enjoyment.. Flysurfer continues its pursuit of innovation not imitation ...Any questions just hit me up Ted B
Just took a couple of Sweet Picts.
One Sweet Fin! The Secrete along with being a twin Tip
And like the Eddy the Designer says:
Put the fin deaper in the water to suit your own level.
Anyone can ride this and also not just a raceboard but a Lightwind board as well
and for heavier riders.
I would love to see (read reports on) a shoot out between this FlyRace and the best conventional (directional) race boards.
It would be interesting to see 2 closely matched riders match racing (and switching off) in a few different sets of conditions and with light/medium/strong breeze:
1. chop and slop
2. large swell
3. flat water
4. upwind & downwind VMG performance in all conditions
also interested in ease of handling and technique with the different boards.
The one thing I noticed in the video is that it looks a bit precarious raising and lowering the centerboard. Maybe there is an easier way to do this with some pulley arrangement?
It would also be interesting if they had a way to change flex for different conditions/rider weight.
Somebody....set up this challenge for us, please!!!

I tried my flyrace without any prior test. That was a surprice - a difficult
surprice.
Downwind with the midfinn all up was difficult because of the much rocker
(5 cm) of the flyrace. Like kiting on soap. I think the midfinn further down with
five centimeters will help a little. And I think some experience on the board
will make it easier. As always with a new board.
The flyrace looks like a flydoor. It is absolutely no flydoor. Without the
midfinn down it is a completely different board.
Tackling against the wind was a positive surprice on one hand.
With the midfinn 80 % down this board really can go upwind. It was amazing.
But to get going or changing direction was like tackling with a dinghy with
a long centerboard, two much wind and low bodyweight: It was like "falling over
the midfinn". To capsize automatically. There you must learn this side and behaviour
of the flyrace. And I think it can be learned quite easily.

A different board yes. To be sailed upright/ flat. But a nice and challenging
new piece of technology for kiteracing. For those who don't go directional.
For those who wanna race and go whereever you want. Up- or downwind.
In light or medium wind. Well done flysurfer and Eddy Lansink.
and more ...
Last weekend i won my 5th. Kiterace here in Denmark… ohh.. and that is five out of five
We have two classes here - Twintip and directional I was in twintip with the new Flyrace
I got the board on wednesday and went on the water to try it out… how hard could it be..
But in the beginning I could barely surf with the fin half way down because I put the board completely flat
It did strange things ( felt like cavitating ) and had to focus 100% it was awful and tested it back to back with the monsterdoor 4-5 hours that was exhausting and frustrating and later that day I broke my loved monsterdoor on a hard 21m loop landing… crap so I had to use the flyrace on kiterace Saturday…
Thursday I had to give it another chance and went out together with my friend Anders who has the same board and I looked at him and he was edging like a normal board and it didn’t look very effective.. but what the heck I could give it a try… and voila the fin all way down and slightly edging and slow speed at POW it went upwind like a rocket at a crazy angel.. didn’t really need to test it against door now.. this was insane... what a relief after first the frustration I was so happy and couldn’t wait to try it again..
I really love this board it gives a completely new dimension on twintip.. not only the upwind but also 90 degree half wind with half fin and completely flat board and only surfing on the fin with minimal splash behind board and ultra fast speed.. it is so much fun and it is making this bobbling and hissing sound around the fin… but this is not an easy board.. the flydoorXL is much easier and I had to order the new one for light wind fun..
The board has a lot of rocker at the front fins barely touches the water and needs the fin to work.. I think minimum 8cm or it will slide around without any grip in the water.. I haven’t found the right downwind fin depth yet but in the race I was about 10cm and it worked ok
I didn’t had the chance to compete against the directional but I was testing with them and they have 18m North Dyno and 19m Royal factory racing i didn’t know if there were going max upwind but I felt like I could eat them for breakfast I was on 21m we have no kite restriction here.. ohh and I also LOVE the 21m cant live without it.....
