Hope this isn't the sea state typical of 30 knots. This forecast shows Thursday and especially Saturday could be difficult - especially if they had problems today, which should have been much easier.
Yep, That is what it looks like. In this typical type of Sylt classic conditions, you don't want to be offshore anchored in a boat. It is only a matter of time before you take a good one over the bow. When we ran races, they were only slalom in these conditions, start signaled from the beach or beach starts and preferably waveriding only so we did not have to launch any boats from shore! We lost one hard bottom inflatable (zodiac style boat) in the shore break on one of the years I ran the event. Guys stopped the boat instead of running it up the beach and got nailed by a set and flipped it! Shore break in Sylt can be very gnarly. AA

What's the story in race 6 of the ladies? Bilge Ozturk doesn't start the first race or complete any of the others, yet she wins race 6?
The World Championships seems to be an epic contest, but unfortunately the budget wasn't sufficient to provide a lot of coverage. Hopefully someone will have been videoing some of the best bits.
