Wax your Fins !!!!

Postby mikelet » Mon Jun 27, 2011 7:35 pm

:D yes, you've heard right ..
That's a tip for owners of boards with Futures fins :thumb: .
Did you ever realize that sometimes changing from a pair of fins to another, there's a just a small slight sideways tolerance "movement" between fin and box even tightening the screw to the max??
As far as any tolerance there is not good for board life and riding performance, something that get worse with stiffer or larger fins, due to the forces involved and applied in kiting such as upwind riding and jumps...
Do not struggle anymore (of course if the tolerance it's not huge) even if you're on a trip, wax is here to save your life again ! :D
Just wax the sidewalls of the base of your fins and mount it rigth to the box...
The fins just get tighther inside and kind of "stick" to the box now...they're easy to remove again and dirt, salt, sand will create a film faster inside to help strenght.. :thumb:
Hope this helps.
