loss of paint on a TT

Postby RomanC » Thu Jul 07, 2011 6:18 pm

So my old TT lost some paint from riding in the shallows. I am correct to assume that exposing the wood to the water will kill the board quicker? If so, would a sprain can job do the trick?

If the wood itself is exposed, it is not just the paint you rubbed off, but the fiberglass too!
Your board will not last forever....
I would say, just paint it with epoxy to seal the wood and ride it until it breaks -it might break more easily if too much of the glass is gone!
Careful....

This is yoru chance to find the artist within!

sand back the whole board. Paint something super sweet on there. then epoxy reson over the top to give a hard protective layer. i'tl make you board look like new!

if you can be arsed then localized paint and then resin will do the job. If you don't use resin you will wear the paint off pretty damn fast.

See the repaint job i did on my old shitter TT this week!

I like the paint job, but that thing is gonna be tough to spot when it lands fins up and you're 50 meters from it. It'd be tough to spot in your backard pool.
