I've got a dakine world traveller bag now, which is a little too tight width wise.
Is anyone making a good proper roller travel bag for box-rule race boards yet??? (ideally which can also handle 4 kites, fins, bars, whatever).
thanks!
Kyle

Kyle I have the same problem. Maybe we should all hook up and order a few custom bags? http://www.midnightproducts.net/Btw. i think with 4 kites, etc, the bag will be heavier than most airlines allow for which is 70lb. If you want a board, bag, it needs a walled side, some thin mesh between the board and then kites on top?

After trying several bags, the best solution I've found w/o breaking the bank is the Pro-Lite Hybrid/Fish. 6.0' for my Aguera CR53 / CR59 boards (178 x 53, 59cm) and a 6'6" for my CR69 LE (188 x 70cm). They're 27" wide double bags that also fit one 70cm board. Not roller bags but 1/3 the price and very burly for air travel. Tom @ Surfride in Oceanside has them from $67 USD. http://www.surfride.com/getsearchresults.asp?keyword=pro-lite+hybrid And they do no-hassle returns/exchanges. Here's one of mine And I can leave the fins in for around-town by inserting the board face down.

I picked up a Pro-Lite Hybrid/Fish as lucky_mookie suggested for my Cabrinha Race 2011 183 cm because it's supposed to be pretty much the same size as the Aguera C59. Luckily I went for the 6'3" bag instead of the 6'0. It just barely fits in the 6'3" bag. I think I would go for one size larger on the bag if I had the choice, but this will work. I just bought the bag to stop scratches and dings to the board when in my car. I wouldn't airline check a race board in this bag. I don't think there is enough padding. Good price though for an around town bag.

My apologies. Make sure you get the "Pro-Lite Rhino Hybrid/Fish Double" and not the "Pro-Lite Session Hybrid/Fish". The Rhino is roomier and has thicker padding. The pictures I posted were of the Rhino. My Aguera 69cm wide 2011 race board fit fine in the Rhino but would not fit in the same size Session. The Rhino costs more but is worth it. Surfride.com had the products displaying wrong, showing the Rhino description but the Session part # and price. They can order you a Rhino if you call or email them. If your board is 65-70cm wide, then probably order a bag an extra 3" long to accomodate the squared off tail. Pro-Lite Rhinos to fit a race board would be the 6'3 or 6'6". The "Hybrid/Fish bag has much wider midsection and tail than regular bags which is why it works for race boards.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but just sorted a boardbag and thought I'd pass it on the info. my solution was to buy a neil pryde performer 245 / 75, initially I thought I'd cut it down and shorten the zip to fit the board, instead I got a local sail repair guy (thanks Rob Jones) to add a buckle and strap.
It works a treat, its light enough for day to day use, and I can store my fins in the extra flap. With or without the fins, it still balances on the handle and shoulder strap.
The best bit is it can be padded out for air travel, and because the strap is adjustable, extra rail padding, or a quiver of kites is no problem, just loosen the strap off as much as you need.
