PRESS RELEASE
1st KITEFOIL RACE WORLD CUP

LA CIOTAT (France) Esplanade Langlois
17 to 20 May 2012
Organizers
Mer et vent, Eole Sensatios, Mer Evenements Ciel, Freeboss

The event:
First Kitefoil Race World Cup

Event dates:
17 to 20 May 2012

Event venue:
In the « golfe d’Amour » between the two cities of La Ciotat and Saint-Cyr-Sur-Mer to take advantage of all wind conditions. This bay is often windswept by the Mistral, but the east wind is also there with nice waves.

The concept:
- Race course only for kitefoil to become the winner of the first Kitefoil World Cup.
- Kite exhibition
- Tests
- Kitefoil show
- Gargantuan meals and evening parties
- Prices and prizes
- Free parking on site

A kitefoil?:
A kite and a surfboard with a foil fin. The rider standing in balance plays with all the sea and wind conditions.
It rides with 5 or 6 knots, it’s nice, without noise, it’s the light wind weapon, no more expectation of the wind on the beach, the show is ensured.

Searching for a major brand ....

Postby Europ2 » Sun Oct 16, 2011 4:08 pm

Actually, the foilboard community (222 official members and growing plus twice as many non registered regular readers worldwide) on the kitefoil forum, is waiting for the foilboard Worlds'impact in May 2012 so that a major brand could propose a mass produced, stiff, slim and effective molded hydrofoil+board set under 1200 USD.

The funny thing is that the most reluctant windsurfers to kitesurfing are fascinated by the no to low wind performance of the hydrofoil (25 knots by 6 to 8 knots of wind) and would be ready to pass the dark side of the force. They should be included in the market study .... :)

Beware, watching this vid on YouTube, 720p HD full screen, creates dizzyness and addiction (broadband connection prefered) :o :o

The culprit, 50 hours of labour, key of so much fun and excitement, would welcome a industrial partnership for mass (re)production (Credit / Contact : Franck A - Remy D from Frejus, France)

lets remember that the recent Kiteboard World Slalom event was conducted in 6-8, and i think board speeds were around 20.
