Any news on North Dyno??

Postby spacemonkey » Wed Jan 12, 2011 10:54 am

Last year i got into racing.
During a comp, i found out that my 12m rebel isn't going to cut it against the big boys.
So i need a big kite, since i've been kiting on North kites for 10 years , i really don't what to look at other brands.
So anyone tried the new Dyno or seen it or knows when they're coming out?

thanx

PKRA Thailand is in about 3 weeks...winds are lighter for racing, so I expect Dirk Hanel and Sky Solbach to be racing on those kites...let's see what results they will achieve!

Any news yet?

At 77kg, would you go for 16 or 18m² (for course racing, i mean)

I'm afraid that 18 will be to heavy, construction wise. And what would be the gain in comparison of the 16, maybe 1 or 2 knots?

I have been running a Fuse 14 as my big kite in the snow races in the states, I have beat every big kite with it. I currently run 30m lines and have beat 17m kites on 40m. in very light winds, I was drag racing Damo on skiis,(I race snowboards). and was stoked how fast my kite was against his crossbow 14. I am coming off Ozone edges and am so happy with my fuses. I have a dyno 18 on order and can't wait to play with it. I think 16 to 12 would be a good jump, also. I weigh around 170lbs and ride and train in very little wind all summer so I think the 18 is the correct choice. I was one of the first guys to have a zephyr when I was a ozone athlete, and now everyone here flys them so I hope the dyno stomps them! As soon as I get mine I will report whats up!

North is claiming a low end of 5 knots for the 18m :o

Seems like they took a different direction then Dimitri & the Infinity. The Dynos have 7 struts vs the Infinitys 3 and Dynos lost the 1-pump to save weight while the Infinity kept it.

I CAN'T WAIT to try the Dynos.

they are taking the piss with the price!!

OK, FS kites cost a little more but the amount of work that goes into making a large foil is HOURS and HOURS more than making an inflatable!!!
