Race Boards in Chop

Postby davesails7 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 6:13 pm

Anybody have any tips for riding race boards in chop?

I can't tell if it's better to keep the kite high to lift yourself over the chop, or keep the kite low to make sure that the fins don't come out of the water. (When going upwind) I guess longer fins would help in this case?

Keep the kite a little higher. Different boards are...ehh...different, but you'll notice it better in monster chop.

I put the kite a little higher..maybe..not too much, but once you go fast, with big fins, the board starts coming out of the water a little...kind of like a windsurfer. You basically ride the fins.
