air padre kiteboarding, on South Padre Island is hard to beat.

super cheap accomodations all over the island (including next door to shop at Wind Water Hotel)

depart from APK private boat slips at the shop to ride great conditions virtually year round. end of summer not really recommended, but the rest of the year its on.

Another vote for AirPadre. Best learning enviroment (warm, shallow, windy, no land obstacles).
Instructors are great. I took my first lessons there over 6 years ago and continue to send anyone wanting to improve their kiting skills to AirPadre.

Regards,
IRWE
