I'm new to racing, and just got my first board (2011 Venturi). There's a vent plug that screws in. Should I unscrew it every time I store the board? Or is that just to allow expansion / evaporation inside the board in hot weather?
Thanks!

I asked this question to the shop when I purchased my race board. They said that you can just leave it in all the time unless it is going to undergo a large pressure change such as in an airplane. I don't fly with the board, so I've left the plug in for the last 6 months.

Leave it in. Times when you want to take it out is when you fly, or if it is in hot environments...be careful as super heating boards are the best way to killing and making it delam.
Congrats on the board
Come over to Oahu for the casual summer races...

Leave it in but unscrew it a little when traveling with the board in your car or when sitting on the beach in hot summer day or of course if you take the airplane. In fact mine is always loose and I tighten it just before going in the water.

I would so forget to tighten it. I leave mine in.
