I clotheslined the poor guy. Totally my fault. I was really concentrating on getting upwind as the wind was light and didn't see him in the afternoon sun. Oops.

He was very polite when I found him and apologized. Nobody was hurt; no equipment damaged.

with the lines.... that could have been really bad. Looks like his maste caught it instead of his neck. Lesson learned though and glad he was cool with it. Keep that kite high when passing.

Start wearing polarized sunglasses ASAP when the sun is below a 45 degrees angle
Especially on certain wind directions.....with eyes facing the sun on majority of tacks
If the sun hits mostly your back when riding then there will be no "blinding glare" situations

Yeah, good to wear glasses to cut the glare in those conditions. The camera probably cuts the glare down compared to your eyes.

I was on a windsurfer when a snorkeller swam round a pier and popped his head up in the gybing area and I didn't see his head until my board was missing it by a metre. The low sun bouncing off the chop makes it very difficult to pick anything out in the water.

I have actually found it a bit challenging to kite with polarized glasses in some of the smaller swell we get on lighter days. The water in Jupiter is often so clear that you almost don't see the smaller stuff that has not broken until you have stuffed the nose of your board in to it.

I was wearing sea specs at the time. Just didn't see him because I was trying like Hell to stay upwind so had my body and head looking the other direction. My kite wouldn't have been this low normally but I was pumping it.

I think these sort of things are bound to happen now and then no matter how careful we are.

My brother said it was probably the most fun the guy had all day on his windsurfer and that I probably made his year because I gave him an excuse to bash kiters.

Missed it by... that much.

I'v been trying RainX on the outside case on my GoPro to reduce water spots. Looks like you may have some salt building up. Or you can lick it.
