A student of mine works at a clinic and apparently they admitted a kiteboarder who had torn his pectorals. I don't know the details but has anyone seen anything like this?
Supposedly got hit by a gust and tore them off internally. I'm guessing waist harness?
gnarly...
I don't think I know this person or I would have probably heard about it. Crazy.

I don't ride boots but I've considered the switch. I've worried about this kind of thing, well not specifically this, but having issues with kite pulling one way and board acting as sea-anchor.

Well, the other problem with boots is that they're heavy and even fully unhooked the slams are pretty hard on stomach muscles and knees.
They do look cool though.

could get a torn pect if you get lofted it's too shallow and when you fall brace yourself with your arm
al horford moments after ripping his pec in a fall
