Great news for the sport. The U.K could clean up with Ollie & Steph Bridge.
Hope the old grunters on their scene, put all their backing and efforts behind them.
Will be interesting to see how it develops in the 4 years before Rio.

here's the line up
men's & women's
kiteboarding
laser
Finn
470
49er
and men & women mixed
nacra 17
It would be nice if they dumped the Finn, 470 or 49er to make room for the windsurfers, on the other hand, it will be exciting to watch those nacras they are fast. They couldn't run the tornado the fastest international olympic boat because they judged women sailors would not be strong enough to handle it, so they went with the smaller but still exciting nacra 17.

Kitesurfing will race in the Olympics. IKA has a list of the board and kites registered to race on. Its a box rule, production kite and board set up.
Go to
http://www.internationalkiteboarding.org/ as all the info is there.
Competition rules, courses, equipment, calendar of races, etc.
Lots of Gebi

Really good article, thanks!
If you put the 2012 North raceboard in that picture alongside the other three it really shows how the rate of development has slowed down.

Fri May 11, 2012 5:58am EDT
Sailboards could become an unwanted item
By Ori Lewis
JERUSALEM, May 11 (Reuters) - The International Sailing Federation's (ISAF) decision to drop windsurfing from the Olympics in favour of kiteboarding likely came about because some delegates didn't realise what they were voting for, Israel's sailing chief said on Friday.
