Naish Park 2011 wind range - please

Postby boardridesurf » Sun Sep 18, 2011 12:44 am

Can anyone let me know what the real life wind range is for the 2011 Park 12m and 10m for a 185lbs intermediate on a medium twin tip?

Thank you!

In Park 12 you sail with 12 to 25 knots smoothly. When you use a Park 10 you need 15 to 30 knots for riding ease. How has the option whether to use the extension, your range increases considerably.

Pretty much what I would say too. Very good point with the extensions. :thumb:

Guys let's be realistic please.
There is no way a 12 Park could work at 12knots.
I love the kite, one of the best I have owned in the past 2 years.
But one thing really sucks... The low end.
I usually started to have fun with the 12m, only around 16-18 knots.
I am 190lbs, riding surfboard.

With your weight, riding a 12m Park 2011 in 12m is a dream...

I heard the 2012 has a much better low end...in 2011 the low end was the real (albeit only) issue.

hi! Anyone can tell me what is gonna be low end of 2011 naish park 6m. I'm lookin for a kite for stronger winds. My second kite is Wainman smokie 9m, I can ride on it up to 30 knots. Is the park 6m will work from 25-30 knot? or I need somting biger like 8m?

whats your board? Weight? I would think it would work at around 25 knots. I tried that kite, in lighter winds, but on a bigger board (6'3'' surfboard), and that was fine.

I have 2011 Naish Park 10m 9m 7m.

I am 5'10 160lbs and ride 5'8 to 6'1 surfboards.

For me I ride the 10m in 16 to 20 knots with 24m lines. I ride the 9m in 20 to 26 knots with 20m lines. I ride the 7m if windier than that also with 20m lines. Always in surf.

I have been riding North Rebel and then Evo prior to getting the Parks this year. I love the Parks for their lively handling and great drift. Low end is not nearly as important to me as the turning speed and depower on the high end. That said, I would ride 1m smaller size in the North kites if you want to compare. The Park 7m is a very small 7m. I rarely have enough to use it here in Puerto Rico. Whereas I used to ride my North 7ms quite often. I am on the 9m 80% of the time. This kite has awesome top end and is really fun in surf.

Hope that helps.

I am 87kg. And ride a 134/44 TT. Low end sucks. i have a 12 and 10 Parks. My range is from 10 to 35 kn. I really notice the low end issues. I am considering switching to 2012, but want to test first. Other than that, i love my parks:-)

Consider the 14 if you do. It is a super fun kite, and it will probably give you that extra kick you need on the low end :-)
