Difficult to know what to buy with olympic aspirations when the equipment requirements have not been chosen yet. Will be some interesting debate going on of cost vs one design vs box design - ongoing forever i would guess.

Yep probly will be ongoing forever so just go buy something you think will be fast.

Most events probly wont be to concerned about it anyway eg: the North American championships on very soon are promoting the event "bring any race board, doesn't have to be IKA registered".
