GoPro Headstrap mount

Postby Who1 » Mon Aug 08, 2011 6:39 pm

Got a new GoPro
I plan on using it with the headstrap mount without a helmet.
Is there a good chance to loose it? Anybody lost one that way? Do you guys secure it somehow? I can't seem to find a good way of securing it (aside from using my ear for that) without it looking really nasty..

Couple of month ago, a friend of mine used his brand new Gopro with the Headstrap while riding in Hatteras.
20 min later, on the first jump, he lost it landing in the water!
So I hightly recommend you to make your own safety leash, hooked on the Headstrap going down around your neck!
I am using a Helmet instead to avoid this to happen, as the helmet has a strap under the chin.
Just my opinion!

No wetsuit, no west, no helmet... Any ideas how to tie it?

I don´t like leashing things to my neck :). If don´t have a helmet and you use a t-shirt, you could put the leash underneath the shirt down to your wrist for example.

Another option is to the harness, to the back rope you usually put your kite leash. Adjusting well the lenght so that it is not very loose.

But leash it! you will loose the cam if not.

Just get a helmet man. Really wearing a helmet is not that bad. Now losing a $300 camera is pretty bad. Helmet plus zip ties and you don't have to worry about it.

get some type of line. Even a strong fishing line will do and tie the back part of the headstrap to your harness.
