Me and some friends are starrting a one design fleet in my hometown with edge kites and production ML boards and thinking of using Select fins but are they competitive im talking the VMax 41 and 38 sizes i know there not ristas or tectonics did anybody in the top 20 where using them at Worlds?

Those are about $200 cheaper for a set. Can you order them with cant?

I think if I'm going to spend around $2500 for a new board and fins I'd pay the extra $200 for a more proven set of fins from rista or tectonics.

They are made with pre-preg instead of G10 like the more expensive fins. I've heard it's harder to get the dimensions as exact with this type of fin.

check out True Ames, they are definitely competitive, if not at par, with Rista and Tectonics but wont empty your pocket. Ive got a set if you want pictures. The actual production fins(vs the white ones on the site) are clear and made with high-quality G10, CNC manufactured.

Just a question if I may? What's the point of a one design fleet if you are already using the fastest kites and boards known today? You may as well have an open fleet? If anyone comes there with anything faster, then it will be worth looking at and innovative.

We will use the same model of kites just you can choose the size and use the same board to see inside us our own improvement like most sailing clases do and succes like 49er, optimist, lasern, finn

OK, makes sense. I though a one class is to avoid an arms race which would mean that if everyone is already on the best gear available then you might as well leave it an open class, but yes, it can also be used to (instead of bringing everyone down to the same level but also) bring everyone up to the same level (force them to get more competitive gear).

I kind of agree with DaveSails, that if you already spend so much on the kite and board to get the best available, why not get the best fins as well for not that much more money? But I suppose it is the last straw that breaks the camel's back (or bank account).
