I have so far only used a waist harness, but often after long racing sessions my back is really is bad...so I am wondering if I am going to check out a seat.
Do you guys have any comments or thoughts before I buy another harness?
Usual thoughts - try some most of the racer guys here use a seat harness... some, like that Naish or Mystic ones, are quite thin, soft, and flexible. Others, like the Dakine Fusion, are built like a tank. And still other, like the OR Session or the North Transformer, are a hybrid...
I highly recommend it for racing. Very, very light and still comfortable. For me, important difference – a hook is suspended at least 15cm than a waist harness hook. It gives me advantage riding downwinds when pushing hips outside a board allow to drive a kite much faster from a bottom to the top of his sinusoidal track. Another advantages: – a cleat is closer to my hands - No pain in a back after even long sessions, - It does not lift up to a chest as some waist harnesses.
I do not recommend normal seating harnesses. - borrow any race one from a RSX or FW rider for a try.
Im using Gaastra race seat harness, but looks that I have some doubts regarding it due to some issues like its lifting up effect and belts pressure on legs, maybe wrong setting is made, maybe I use wrong position with board, but also is good hear, if any, some other opinion regarding this product.

Noooot only! First of all you have a hook fitted much lower and this is the main feature of racing harness. It allows to take a more comfortable position riding any direction and control better gusts.I believe that such a hook's position gives better chances to ride on the leeward edge. The feet pressure might be released easier and more body weight might be distributed through a hook.
Secondly you can lower the racing harness to extreme positions what you cannot do it wit a normal one. In competition I keep it almost below of my hips.
Have you notice that more top riders are coming back to a seat one this year? Blaszko got a custom made seat harness with low position and crazy ultra light weight. He would not do it without some reasons.
Please try first if you can and spend couple of hours to adopt to the proper position. Then you might take advantage of this low suspended harness.
