EXTRA KNOT for more POWER on 2008 ECLIPSE KITES

Hi Guys

A few people have been calling me and asking why the kite did not have allot of power out of the bag when they are flown in the low end of the wind range. Well I was very confused because the new kites are very powerful. So I discovered that some riders have the kites severely under sheeted for some reason. I am looking into why this happened on some kites but in any event its a very very easy fix.

Here is what you do if you want more power, hang time and so on...this applies to all kite sizes and models.

Make an extra knot about 10cm above the top knot on both the red and blue attachment lines on the bridal.

Attach your lines and you are ready to go. The flying lines will remain the same lenght- use the top knot for the most power.

So basically if you feel the kite should have more power you just have to tighten up the back lines by a few CM.

Ok if you have any questions let me know.

Thanks.:thumb:

Yep, me too, but more low end is allways usefull. I've flown my 12m in low wind with the bar sheeted all the way in. In that situation I would like a knot more. Strange that I haven't thought of that. That's probably because I've been out in low wind once

It wont backstall the kite. Some of the kites are perfect as is. If you are very happy with the performace then your kite is fine, go have fun.

A few riders complained about lack of power- so this is the fix for those who are lacking power.

Tried the 9 nano on the new knot at 10 cm WOW! what a difference in the low end of the kite I was riding in light east wind and staying upwind on a surfboard on a 9 while everybody was on 16-12s. the kite was still stalling when you pulled the bar in. so I moved the knot so it was EXCACTLY 2.5 inches from the third knot this was it no stalling just pure low end power. cant wait to fly this kite in 20+ with overhead waves!

I added this new knot on my 16m 08 Thruster.

In light wind I was able to oversheet the kite and back it down when the bar was pulled all the way in, so I found myself pulling a little depower to prevent this. In the end, I'm pretty sure I negated the new knot with the depower and the next day went back to the third knot from the end.

I'm finding that paying attention to the kite and keeping it moving in the window until I've built up speed is better in the light wind than the additional knot. Haven't tried the knot on the 12 Thruster or a Nano yet.

(Shameless plug - I love these kites!)
