Pro Kiteboard Coaches / Instructors

Postby mobettah » Tue Jan 15, 2008 12:38 am

Another post about a lesson with Dimitri got me wondering - do any of the pro kiteboarders have coaches / mentors / instructors that help them with technique, style and execution? Or is the sport still so young that it is all about going out and trying new things.

Like for example has Rubin Lenten got a coach? Aaron Hadlow, Kevin Langree?

Are they mentoring / coaching any up and coming kiters?

Alvaro Onieva has Carlos Saez as coach.

Bruno Sroka, PKRA World Tour Race champion 2008 had a mental coach.

And all the pro girls who are dating a pro kiter have coaches ;-)

Non of the germans have coaches as far as i know.

we push ourselves and try to have fun on the water. if you want; my friends are my coaches, as they tell me that the tricks still look bad. than i try harder.
that's why i absolutely looking forward my australia trip, when silvester, pile and i go for some footage and training. as far as there are some photos, i'll put them on my page.

I know that Jaime Herraiz has a new business set up to try and explore the future of pro training. He has already helped North create a great "farm" system for their young riders and is in the process of doing camps for Norths international team riders. He also offers "custom" lessons for the likes of us common riders. I am sure more and more older pros will be headed in this direction as they retire from comps.

in fact, right now Mallory, Mario and Reno are with Jaime in Guajiru training! Like a small camp.

Thanks for the posts. I find this interesting. I forgot about the North Young Guns program. Cool idea

I guess there is one individual that has a pro coach..... Cameron Maramenides! :thumb:
