Western Australia Feb/March flying with Emirates

Postby Bradders » Wed Jan 16, 2008 9:02 am

I've booked flights for a 6 week holiday in Western Australia going middle of Feb and staying most of March.
Firstly is the wind still good in March and what size kite should I bring (90kg)
Secondly does anyone know the score with Emirates and Kitesurfing gear ?
I've phoned them up and they do not have a policy for transporting kitesurfing gear it just has to go as excess baggage with at £30 kg is excessively expensive. Was recommended using Sky Cargo ?
Any info would be appreciated.

they are quite flexible, usually a nice chat with staff solves all the problems. never paid for additional kg

Usually they are flexible, if you are not much over wieght I don't think there is a problem, or ask for the Captain there is a good probability he is a kitesurfer and he can hook u up! :) lots of Emirates captain or crew kite in Dubai...
