Hi all.

Wanted to throw up a posting here to act as the official 2008 La Ventana Kite XPO thread.

Over the past couple of days we have caught some good winds in the afternoon and things look optimistic for a good couple days of demos down here starting this weekend. 14 brands have signed up to demo equipment and the town is full of riders down to take advantage of this. Tomorrow will likely be the day we participate in the annual Island Crossing event (click here for a map showing the island and La Ventana) and we have demo days scheduled for the following 4 days after the race.

I'll try to throw up an update daily and some photos as I get them. For now all I have is a nice shot of a Mexican sunrise taken this morning and a quiver of 2008 Rise Kites

Things really took flight here yesterday. What a day!

With over 150 riders in the 2008 La Ventana Classic Island Crossing and 14 brands on hand to demo equipment the water and beach was chaotic to say the least. The race went very well with Sean Farley winning for the men and Marie LeClerc winning for the women.

Demos continue today and for the next 2 days after that so there is plenty of time left to get out on all the newest gear. Brands represented (that I can think of....sorry) are: Ocean Rodeo, Cabrihna, SS, Blade, Eclipse, Freak Dog, Best, LF, Caution, geez....6 more...sorry.
